There are 10 Dungeons in BFA, 5 on each faction's continent respectively (5 on Zandalar: Atal'Dazar, Temple of Sethraliss, The Underrot, King's Rest, Kezan and 5 on Kul Tiras: Freehold, Waycrest Manor, Tol Dagor, Shrine of the Storm, Siege of Boralus) and become available to both sides only at 120 level. Bosses in Mythic Dungeons drop 340+ item level gear with a chance of it being Warforged or Titanforged, which can have its item level upgraded to 390 item level piece.

King's Rest Loot: What Drops and From Whom

King's Rest loot is worth a closer look, because this Zandalar dungeon has a few drops that players still chase in 2026. The four bosses are The Golden Serpent, Mchimba the Embalmer, The Council of Tribes and Dazar, The First King. Each one drops gear in the 340+ range on Heroic, with the usual chance of a Warforged or Titanforged upgrade.

Dazar, the final boss, is the one most runners care about. He drops trinkets, weapons and Azerite armor pieces, so a full clear is the better bet if you want a shot at the best item.

Reading the Loot Table

Loot is personal, so your chance does not shrink because other players are in the group. Each boss rolls separately for you. Expect around 1 or 2 items per run for the whole party, not per player, though lucky runs give more.

  • Golden Serpent: mostly cloth and leather pieces, plus some rings
  • Mchimba: shoulders and chest items, and a decent Azerite chance
  • Council of Tribes: a mix of weapons and neck slots
  • Dazar: trinkets and the top Azerite pieces

If you plan to push higher keys later, compare this with the BFA mythic dungeons boost run, where drops start a tier higher.

The Underrot in WoW: Route and Rewards

The Underrot is a short dungeon, usually 20 to 25 minutes on Heroic with a competent group. Its four bosses are Elder Leaxa, Cragmaw the Infested, Sporecaller Zancha and Unbound Abomination. Skip nothing optional if you only need the achievement. Skip a lot of trash if you only want loot.

Sporecaller Zancha tends to be the most dangerous fight for new groups, since the Boundless Rot mushrooms spread fast and punish bad positioning. Stand away from the pools and the fight becomes simple. Cragmaw and Leaxa mostly demand movement more than damage.

Once you finish Heroic, the Mythic Plus dungeons guide explains how keystones and scaling change these same bosses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which King's Rest boss has the best loot?

Dazar, The First King, is the usual pick because his table includes strong trinkets and Azerite armor. Mchimba is a decent second stop. Clear the whole dungeon anyway, since each boss is a separate roll.

How long does The Underrot take on Heroic?

Most groups finish in about 20 to 25 minutes. A well-geared tank who pulls big can bring it under 20. Slower groups should plan for 30.

Can I farm these dungeons every day?

Heroic dungeons have a daily lockout on loot, so each boss gives you one chance per reset. You can still enter extra runs for Azerite and reputation. Gear drops stop after you kill the boss once.
