Horrific Visions
Horrific Visions are a new type of end-game progressions scenario added to patch 8.3 of Battle for Azeorth designed to allow you to upgrade your Legendary Cloak.
There are two Horrific Visions available: Orgrimmar Horrific Vision and Stormwind Horrific Vision which rotates weekly. Each Horrific Vision consists of 5 zones: 2 Corrupted Area, 2 Lost Area, and 1 Tainted Area.
Faceless Masks increase the difficulty of the Horrific Vision but increase the Mementos gained and item level rewarded at the end. There are 5 faceless masks available each obtained in different ways. Each faceless mask adds a unique effect and increases enemies' health and damage by 25% but increases your Corrupted mementos gained by 20%.
After completing the run you can collect your item and Corrupted Mementos from the chests.
Visions of N'Zoth: how the Vessel and the Coalescing Visions work
Visions of N'Zoth runs through the Vessel of Horrific Visions, a device that sits in Orgrimmar for the Horde and in Stormwind for the Alliance. You activate it with Coalescing Visions, and each run costs a set amount. If you are still farming those visions, the coalescing visions wow guide covers the fastest assault routes.
Visions of N'Zoth Rewards
Every completed run pays out gear scaled to the number of masks you wore. A full clear with no masks gives lower item level pieces than a 5-mask run, and the gap is large enough to matter if you are chasing the cloak upgrades. Cosmetics drop at any difficulty. Toys, pets and transmog sets are random, so expect to repeat the content.
Horrific Vision Rewards in the Titanic Research Archive
The Titanic Research Archive is the vendor and reward area tied to your progress, where you spend what you earn inside the vision. Check it after each weekly reset, because some unlocks depend on the achievements already listed above.
Gouged Eye of N'Zoth
The Gouged Eye of N'Zoth is a trinket-style reward from the vision loot pool. It is not guaranteed, so do not plan around a single run. Most players see it after several completions, especially when they clear with higher mask counts.
Corrupted Mementos and Mail Muncher
Corrupted Mementos drop from the chests at the end of a clear. You gain about 20% more per mask, so five masks gives a big jump over a plain run. Mail Muncher is a rare mount drop with a low chance per run. Plan on dozens of clears, not a handful.
Players who also gear for raids sometimes pair this farm with mythic uldir gear runs, since both fit the same Battle for Azeroth catch-up window.
Frequently Asked Questions
How to get Corrupted Mementos?
Finish a Horrific Vision and open the chests at the end. Each mask you add raises the amount by about 20%, so higher difficulty means more Mementos per run. You cannot get them from the world, only from completed visions.
Can I farm Mail Muncher on any difficulty?
Yes, the drop is possible on any clear. Masks improve your Mementos and gear, but they do not change the mount's rarity, so the safest approach is the fastest clean run you can repeat.
Do I need a full group to run a vision?
No. Visions are solo scenarios, though strong gear helps a lot with higher masks. Players who skip the grind sometimes look at services such as a hellfire infernal boost for other gear goals, but the vision loot itself still comes from your own clears.
